NICOLE WHITING, NW COACHING

“Emma helped us sell out a 5-figure, epic endurance program in less than a week.

Emma’s superpower is her ability to create copy that not only delivers “in the moment” impact but also fits into the overarching brand message. She never just writes sales emails, she’s communicating the message in an email that just happens to be selling a service.

Emma’s adaptability in voice & deep understanding of the client experience is unparalleled. She’s like a method actor for writing—a method writer!”

My trusty Magic 8 Ball tells me you’re here because…

  • You're wrestling with team challenges – finding the right people, navigating burnouts, and constantly hiring or firing. It's tough enough keeping up with market shifts and changing buyer behaviors, let alone building a solid team that can adapt and thrive.

  • Your mind is the creative engine that fuels your business and it needs a break. You need someone who can jump on board, move with you—double-dutch style—and pick up the pace so you can focus on bigger goals that aren’t the minutiae of marketing. (Ya know, finally writing a book, booking those speaking gigs, or spending more time with family.)

  • Data-informed decisions made it to your list of 2024 NY resolutions—and yet—the idea of diving into analytics feels more overwhelming than choosing a title to watch on Netflix.

LONG STORY SHORT: Your brain is at peak capacity. You don’t have the time nor the energy to figure out what strategies’ll take your business from where it is now to where you want it to go.

YOU’RE READY FOR:

AND THAT'S WHERE I STEP IN

AND THAT'S WHERE I STEP IN ↓ ↓ ↓

Since 2015, I've been turning six and seven-figure brands into mind-melting powerhouses, with strategy & copy that builds relationships and sells.

And ya know what? As I navigated this wild world of marketing, I discovered that without a solid strategy, it was f*cking chaos behind the scenes.

I understand the struggle – web developers clamoring for copy, PR teams wrestling with muddled messaging, launches bogged down by endless revisions, and growth plateauing due to disappointing results.

Whether you're a one-person show or leading a team of twenty, whether you're in your first year or hitting a million—it’s the power of a solid, data-driven foundation paired with creative strategy that drives success.

My mission is simple: to let you offload the weight of marketing, content, and brand strategy so you can get back to being the Chief Visionary Officer of your business– where your big, beautiful brain really shines.

Why will I be the one who takes your marketing from basic to badass?

BECAUSE, WITH ME YOU GET A…

Thought partner who’s at the creative level you need to make real progress in your business.

Step back, spend less time in the ideating weeds, and pursue bigger goals… Ya know, become the visionary of your brand.

Brand Voice + messaging expert who’ll bring your brand’s narrative to life with scroll-stopping strategic storytelling …

Minus the overexposed vulnerability. With deep experience in personal brand marketing, I create relatable stories that don’t just connect, they drive real revenue.

Strategist who’s stoked to answer the question: “I can’t figure out why *this* isn’t working anymore?”

Markets change, buyer behavior shifts, things that worked in the past stop working—but the answers are always in the data.

SIENNA SIINCLAIRE, NAUGHTY GIRL SHOP

“I came to Emma unorganized and random with sending out emails, and I wasn’t making money from them. Once Emma set up a strategy, not only did I get more sales (up 1500% after 3 months!), but I could tell my subscribers were more engaged by the open rate, click-throughs, and responses. She's a pleasure to work with and knows what she's doing. She was definitely an asset to my company.”

But, of course… I’m not for everyone.

X I put my mental health first. ALWAYS.

X I believe my clients and I work as collaborators. That means feedback goes both ways.

X I won’t sell anything that’s gonna do harm (mentally or physically — looking at you diet industry)

X I take vacations that involve me chucking my laptop and cutting off my access to email. (this includes traveling to see Pearl Jam… EVERY tour)

X I enjoy four-letter words (and that twelve-letter one), I’m sarcastic (but kind) AF, and my love language is GIFs (cringe away Gen Z.)

But, we’re a bloody good match if…

You agree that good storytelling comes down to three things. Be interesting, tell the truth, and if you can’t tell the truth—change what you’re doing so you can (AKA live the truth.)

You believe marketing is only as good as the foundation it’s built on. (And that foundation is more than just flashy campaigns, catchy slogans, and persuasive messages.

You have strong opinions about what you stand for (and what you stand against), and you’re stoked to share them.

You understand conversion copy doesn’t just fall out of the sky (or more accurately a writer’s brain). It’s research + analysis + messaging that gets you big money results. This is data expertly blended with creativity.

You speak the universal language of HUMAN. (We’re not as different as X would have us believe.)

DR. KEIRA BARR, EMBODIMENT COACH & DUAL BOARD-CERTIFIED INTEGRATIVE DERMATOLOGIST

“Before I found Emma I was experiencing a lot of mind drama and chaos in my messaging. I had a core vision and mission that I was using as a foundation, but felt like I was changing it with every shiny new object and idea I came across.

Emma came highly recommended and I was desperate to find an objective eye and voice to exfoliate all the layers of messages that didn’t align with my vision that I was too blind to see.

On a scale of 1 to 10, my experience with Emma was a 20. She was so patient with me. I have tons of ideas, created so much content and wrote books in response to her questions—and she waded through it all to create a more cohesive message. I truly appreciate her creating the beautiful guides and additional resources and ways to use this work. I’ve worked with other copywriters and it wasn’t as thorough or as collaborative.

The beauty and magic of working with her is that my messaging isn’t very different, rather it’s more refined, less cluttered, and more clear — while still feeling like me.”

CREATIVITY THROUGH CHAOS ⧋

CREATIVITY THROUGH CHAOS ⧋

A memorable series of firsts…

  • Tackling my dad before he even had a chance to wrestle off his mud-caked work boots so I could plop down in his lap with "Where's Spot?"

    1984 — FIRST STORY

  • Officially reading on my own. Meet the English teacher who’d change the trajectory of my life (props to Mr. McGhie!) thanks to unabashed belief in my writing. Get hauled out on a stretcher my third week of 9th grade and met the boy who’d grow up to be my husband all in the same year… whew!

1994 — FIRST YEAR OF HIGH SCHOOL

  • Picked a tribal sun off the wall of a local Hells Angel-owned tattoo parlour and slapped that sucker right on my lower back. No ragrets? LOL. (I may have gotten 20-odd more in the coming years, but my selection process has def improved). Caught Pearl Jam for the first time that summer — life changed.

    1998 — FIRST TATTOO

  • Living the definition of “wild child” thanks to an undiagnosed mental illness, I was searching for a healthier way to calm the chaos wracking my brain. Creative writing became my outlet for getting the unsayable on paper.

1999 — FIRST CREATIVE WRITING CLASS

  • Landed my first “grown up” 9-5 job in the world of finance. Convinced this was the answer to all my problems, I was stunned by my unhappiness. It may have given me the good fortune of a home, the beginnings of a retirement fund, basic knowledge in investing, insider knowledge into human behavior — but it also led to my first breakdown.

    2004 — FIRST REAL JOB

  • Quit my 9-5, enrolled in a local makeup program and used connections from high school to land a part-time gig at MAC. From there, I grew my first freelance business as a makeup artist. Using my natural skill & creativity I made everyone from high school grads to Olympic athletes feel like the very best versions of themselves. Gave myself a crash course in branding, web design, and copywriting.

    2006 — FIRST SOLO BUSINESS

  • Weighed the pros and cons of taking makeup artistry to the next level before deciding I didn’t want my soul slowly sucked out on a set for the next 30 years (or to spend midlife fighting with brides for a “fair” price). So, my husband and 13-year-old pug packed up the Focus, moved cross country, landing my Gen-X ass back in school for a degree in Fashion Marketing. It was time to get serious about my first love — writing. But this time the goal wouldn’t be to land a gig with Rolling Stone a la Cameron Crowe.

2013 — FIRST YEAR OF COLLEGE

  • Officially opened the virtual doors of Creative Uproar after getting my feet wet working inside brands like Fjallraven, Downtown Betty, and Club Monaco where I created training manuals, drafted event proposals, wrote product descriptions and oversaw e-commerce strategy.

2016 — FIRST YEAR OF CREATIVE UPROAR

  • Landed a gig writing blog posts for a creative tech start-up that slowly morphed into a full-time Head of Content position. Went viral with a post driving 26K new readers to their blog, created everything from app copy to social content to full-blown launch strategy. Found myself at a tattoo convention in LA promoting their new app in January 2020 with artists from all over the world which leads me to…

2018 — FIRST CHIEF OF COPY GIG

  • Left my full-time gig as Head of Content, just as the pandemic was getting good (I’ve always had great timing). Hired my first coach, worked with a one-of-a-kind fitness “influencer,” a super saucy E-Comm brand (helping increase online revenue by 1500% in 3 months with email strategy) AND landed a new contract writing email copy. This gig rolled into full-time Chief Content Officer that same year, thanks to a $100k+ inaugural backend membership launch, and $27k/person endurance program selling out in just 7 days.

    2020 — FIRST PANDEMIC

  • Parted ways with my full-time client of the last two years with the sinking realization I hadn’t spent a single moment marketing my business since 2020. Oof. While panic breathing into a bag, I simultaneously spent 6 days a week training for my first ultra endurance event. In September, I attempted to climb Blackcomb Mountain in Whistler, BC, 8 times in 36 hours (29029 ft). I managed 6 (23,400 ft) before my calf called it quits. Officially reached the height of Aconcagua.

    2022 — FIRST ENDURANCE EVENT

  • Rebuilding my business using the lessons I learned over the last 8 years from working with clients on everything from launch strategy & messaging, to website copy, storytelling, email copywriting, and voice. I combed through my mentorships with coaches and the endless hours I’ve put into education to refine my offers, define my message, and put my new brand out into the world.

    2023 — FIRST MAJOR REBRAND
